Why Dawgma?
Dawgma has officially been a full time business for over 11 years now.

I do not take my pack to public parks as I feel that there are too many distractions, ill behaved dogs and irresponsible owners that can potentially lead to compromising the safety of our dogs. Instead I have my own private acreage I like to call 'the sanctuary' where your dog can play safely with other dogs who have already been vetted and assessed as dog friendly.
I include basic obedience including recall and proper socializing with our outings.

I am licensed, bonded and fully insured.

I have over 25 years experience working with various sized dogs and breeds.
​
I have pet first aid training and my veterinary technician background has given
me the qualifications to care for dogs with special needs as well.

A Bit About Me
I grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario surrounded by lakes and forests where I spent much of my time exploring the outdoors with my dogs. In 1999, I embarked on a new chapter in my life and moved to Calgary for new opportunities, to be closer to family and our beautiful rocky mountains.
​
Dogs have played a significant role throughout my life, including my career choices. From grooming, fostering, rescuing, training, showing to even as a veterinary assistant. All these experiences naturally led to providing dog care as a full time career that I absolutely love and cherish.
This is more than just a job for me.
As an independent dog care provider, it truly gives me so much joy to see your pet thrive in my care.

In my spare time I enjoy working with my dogs, reinforcing training, hiking,
pilates, working out at the gym and reading.

My Team
I have two dogs of my own that join our daily pack walks.
​
Kirby is a male Standard Schnauzer who showed as the #1 Standard Shnauzer in Canada for 2011 and 2012. He even made it to the Westminster Dog Show in New York! But lost to the US's #1 Standard Schnauzer. He's since retired now from the show ring. He's the social butterfly of the two and always up for affection from anyone. He's a bit of a diva, always prancing around as if he knows he's a good looking dude and avoids puddles as he doesn't like to get his paws wet!

Kaia is a female Bouvier des Flandres who is the peace keeper of our pack. She will act as the doggy referee when the dogs get a little too wound up and will herd them to settle them down. She loves our pack walks and a good game of 'chase me'.
